The Heart to Heart series was created during a self-supported cycling tour across the state of South Dakota. The seven day, four hundred and fifty plus mile journey began in Spearfish and was completed in Brookings at the South Dakota Art Museum. During the tour a series of seismic drawings were created as a visual record of the travels. From the Badlands to the prairies, from tailwinds to headwinds, while cycling across country I became immersed in the landscape, providing a way of exposing myself to changing perceptions and new experiences, while acquiring an expanded awareness of my surroundings.

Special thanks to the South Dakota Arts Council for funding to help make this tour and work visible to the public. Life is like riding a bicycle, to keep your balance you must keep moving. Additional thanks to SDPB Radio for the on-air support. Listen to the post tour interview
